Go Prepared to Bridal Shows

Attending a bridal show can be an essential part of planning your wedding. It is your one-stop-shop to meet multiple vendors, see examples of their work and be able to ask all your questions. Be prepared before you go - read the hints below!

Before the show:
  • Go organized and have a game plan
  • Figure out which vendors you need to book
  • Know your budget
  • Ask your mother, future mother-in-law, bridesmaids and/or fiance to come with
  • Prepare questions to ask each vendor
  • Pre-register for the show
At the show:
  • Register at each booth you visit (many times they have prize give-aways)
  • Meet the vendors and figure out if they will meet your wedding needs
  • Take brochures/information from the vendors you like (you will want these for later - especially if you talk to a lot of vendors)
  • Ask questions
  • Find out what dates they have available
After the show:
  • Look over the information you received and discuss what you liked about each vendor with your finace or other appropriate people
  • Contact your favorite vendors and get them booked!

Remember to have fun! There are often games and other activities to play to win discounts or other prizes. Get to know the vendors so you can have that perfect wedding you've always dreamed about!

Top 12 Design Ideas For
Save the Date Cards
A great Save the Date card serves not only as a way to let guests know to keep that day or weekend reserved for your wedding, but also as a way to share other important information such as travel arrangements and accommodations that need to be made. The Save the Date, whether a postcard or a three page newsletter, should have all the important details your friends and family need to prepare for your wedding. Creating your Save the Date card is one of the first (and most exciting!) printing jobs you’ll have, so here are some useful tips for the design and content to get you started:

1. Choose your words carefully
Actually use the words “Save the Date” on the front of your card. Believe it or not, some people mistake Save the Date cards as invitations, and they call in confusion asking how they can submit their entrée choices.

2. Size it up
Determine what size stationery you want to use by keeping in mind the amount of information you want to share with your family, the style you’d like to convey, and how much you want to spend. Standard postcards are the least expensive option since you save on envelopes and postage. Always check a sample with the post office to see exactly how much postage will be. Special rates apply for square envelopes.
