My wife, Kari, and I recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at the River Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove, Minnesota and we are still getting compliments from friends and family about the amazing setting and professional service.
When we started our search for a place to have our wedding, we were looking for venues that could accommodate an outdoor ceremony as well as have the room for a large interior reception. A few courses and banquet halls in the area met our requests, but we were either not satisfied with the price, the location and/or the service. That is until we met Sue O’Connell at River Oaks. After only a few minutes talking with Sue and her staff and touring the course, we knew this would be a great place to get married and we were excited to share it with our friends and family.
Sue and her amazing staff were extremely helpful with any questions or concerns we as a young couple had. The location was also amazing. The outdoor gazebo for the ceremony overlooks the river off in the distance and there is also a newly built dressing room outside for the bridal party to prepare without being seen by arriving guests. With plenty of room in a beautiful grassy area near the clubhouse for the 200 chairs we had, and the scenic view, one of the most important days of our lives was enjoyed by our guests as much as it was by us.
Two of the highlights with the guests was the separate bar you get that is away from the course’s public bar, as well as the access to a beautiful patio to mingle and enjoy the weather. The staff was very courteous, friendly and professional which really helped my wife and I enjoy our night without any stress. We can’t say enough about how pleased and happy we were with Sue and her staff at River Oaks and we highly recommend them. Our wedding and reception was perfect and we owe it all to Sue O’Connell and the River Oaks Golf Course.
