Two hundred brides and their guests attended and EXPERIENCED The Wedding Show 2011 presented by Go2Wed.com.
A total of over four hundred attendees were introduced to Go2Wed’s first ever Cake Dive sponsored by Hy-Vee Bakery. Brides were eagerly waiting every half hour to hear their number called to participate in this vastly popular and slightly messy contest.
A wedding cake on the outside and a treasure chest on the inside, jeweled rings inside represented over $2,500 in prizes from local vendors. The grand prize was a vacation package for two in Jamaica donated by Travel Headquarters, Owatonna, and Breezes Resort.
Other special features of this event included fashion education, wedding décor designs, and a bridal beauty bar as well as providing opportunities for brides to meet local area wedding professionals. With the help of a whistle and a room full of people to cheer them on, the six selected brides dug hand first into the prize cake, tearing the walls of the tiers down immediately desperately searching for prize rings. After a few short minutes, the cake was demolished and brides were gleaming ear to ear with the prize rings they snagged. Beth Boeke of Owatonna grasped two great prizes and also the clear diamond plastic ring signifying her future in Jamaica. “The entire wedding show and the Cake Dive were absolutely fantastic. I was really impressed with the amount, quality, and range of vendors you guys had!” Brides walked away with prizes from Travel Headquarters, Treasure Island, Pure Romance, Mary Kay, Pine Island Party Shuttle, Rochester Golf and Country, Blooms of Love and Traditional Henna.
