As I recap on our 4th annual wedding show yesterday, I’m honored to say it was another success. Our 2010 Wedding Show was produced by go2wed.com and was sponsored by a great group of people. We were also pleased to donate our admission proceeds to the Shjon Podein Children’s Foundation and Team 25.

As brides filled the ballroom, eager wedding professionals awaited with their wonderful, fresh and innovative wedding ideas for the coming year. Brides were able to find professionals in every area related to their wedding from personal trainers to decor rentals, or reception venues to photo booths. There was something for every style of wedding.

We were also able to meet Jessica White who won our contest we hosted at the Wedding Extravaganza back in January. All the brides who visited our booth there were directed to find our go2wed.com member booths that were signified by table tents at the show to meet them. After getting only 10 initials out of the 40 participants in the show that partner with us, they were entered for an ipod touch. Jessica got her wedding planning accomplished and can now relax to her itunes until her wedding in May.

Many of our members offered their own special giveaways for stopping by their booth. Be sure to check out our winners list on our event page to find out if you were a winner.  We also awarded Katie Brekke 2 tickets to the Shjon Podein Celebrity Party that will be held at the Rochester International Event Center June 27, to raise money for the foundation. Our big Grand Prize Giveaway, was an all-inclusive, vacation for two, to sunny Mexico. An 8 day trip which can now hopefully be a free honeymoon, was awarded to Chelsea Miller. We hope she will enjoy the trip and love checking one more thing of her busy wedding list.

Dakota County Technical College Supervisory Management students also volunteered at the event to gain more experience and insight into the production of an event such as this. These wonderful volunteers were on hand to help greet and register brides, and help with decor set up and vendor management. It was a great experience for them in an industry where experience is hard to come by.
