Planning a wedding can be quite the undertaking. There a lots of decisions to make, time to be spent, and headache to endure. One way to alleviate some of these things is to hire a wedding planner. They can help you plan the ceremony of your dreams, but only if you know what you want.
For the sake of helping yourself plan or having a wedding planner, here’s a couple of ways to make the process a little easier on everyone, including you!
1) Knowing what you REALLY want!
Not want you think you should want, or what your mother would like, but what things would really make or break your day. Thinking about some of your likes and dislikes before hand, will make the whole process a lot more clear.
2) Be clear about what you want
Sit down before you get started and write things down that come to your mind about your wedding, in no particular order. NO broccoli anything, fluffy dresses, chicken dance..etc. Get as many of your likes and dislikes out on paper BEFORE you start organizing any of your thoughts
3) THEN organize!
Once you’ve got all your ideas out in front of you, you can begin to organize. Get a new piece of paper and categorize the parts of your wedding. Wedding Dress, Reception, Food, Transportation, Entertainment, Ceremony, Flowers, Invitations, Beauty
Use your list and put them under corresponding categories. EX. No Chicken Dance goes under entertainment
Once you’ve got a better idea of what you REALLY like and don’t like, planning the wedding or bringing your ideas to a wedding planner will start out more smoothly. Bring this information with you to your first visit with the wedding planner.
