Are you clueless about what to do for the bachelorette party? Have you been to tons of cookie cutter bachelorette parties all carrying the same theme?
Most women aren’t looking for the same type of “entertainment” as their other halfs. Women are much more satisfied by female camaraderie and group activities than they would be by male strippers. The style and activities will depend on the guest list and the budget of the hosts and those involved. Most parties usually have guests share equally in the festivities and spend an average of $100 on food, drinks, transportation and cover charges.
Many have changed gears and we’ve seen in increase in interest for spa parties or “risqué” type parties, in wine tastings or sporting events, and out on-the-town type parties. Trends are shifting to more personalized parties and themed parties. Stay simple by choosing a color themed dress requirement or go all out and choose a celebrity with each attendant dressing in relation to that celebrity.
A recently bachelorette party I was a part of was Britney Spears themed. Each girl dressed in a costume from a video, concert, or popular photo. The Bride was a fan of Britney so this was very fitting for their “celebrity night on-the-town”.
As a rule of thumb, the bachelorette party is for the bridal party attendents and close friends. You should not be inviting people to the bachelorette party that are not invited to the wedding. Another consideration are those in that group and what their relationships are with the bride, or their ages.
The best timing for a bachelorette party and be anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks before the wedding which allows ample time for “crunch” time and also financial recovery for attendants.
The most important tip in getting started is learning more about the bride-to-be and guests. Then you can put together an event that compliments the group and one that the bride-to-be will remember forever.
